It feels very special to receive such thoughtful gifts. All four quilts are sawn with care, and one can easily see a lot of thought and time went into making them. Thank you J, once more - you really nailed it!
So...we have not done very much in neither of the children's rooms, yet. Which is the reason why the quilts were not photographed in their designated rooms. Sofi's room needs a fresh coat of paint (especially after she used the back wall as a drawing board because "the wall needed a picture").

Also, Sofi's chairs need to be painted as well. These great little chairs were made by Minna's father years ago when Minna was a child, and have been just changing colors a few times during the years. Now they will turn red, at least for a while. They work fantastically with a small round table, which was a flee market found by Pekka.

So this summer, when Pekka takes care of the Final Frontier (a downstairs guest room), the children's rooms are a great project for Minna and Sofi. Fingers crossed by the end of the summer we have something "playful" to share!
J. did such a good job... and I know she loved making both quilts. Isn't she talented - not to mention thoughtful.

Aunt Mary
She is indeed, again and again I'm stunned by both of those qualities! :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely quilts! I can see Sofi's point - the wall definitely needs a picture ; -) Our daughter wrote hers and her brothers initials on each end of the sofa - so they wouldn't argue as to who should sit where. Kids are so logical in their thinking.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, you are right! We actually started to think there should be a picture on the wall. Something really cool and fun! So now it is just needing to lock on the design and figure out how to paint it - DIY with a projector or invite someone to do it...
DeleteI am so honored to be featured on The Olive Green Window! It pleases me very much that you, Sofi & Eino have been enjoying the quilts and I only could have been happier if I were able to deliver them in person. Big hugs to everyone - J.
ReplyDeleteYou are a star and we miss you so much! One of these days, one way or another...! :-)
DeleteOh and did you notice Quilting Today shared our post with your quilts? http://paper.li/KMello/1327408232?edition_id=89bdc310-257e-11e5-99d4-002590a5ba2d
